Floating Through Time & Space
Tardis doors open, you sit by them staring out into the vast void of space marvelling at it's beauty. You hear the familiar hum of the Tardis you have become so accustomed to you barely notice. While the Doctor, still a mystery to you, fumbles about trying to find the next adventure or place in need of his assistance. You tilt your head back leaning it against the frame of the wooden doors and close your eyes taking in the atmosphere around you.
You haven't been travelling with the Doctor long but the place the Tardis feels like home. A female voice starts to sing filling the air with a sad sounding song. With a start your eyes flash open, no one there but you and the him. Noticing this he asks what's wrong, telling him that you can hear a woman sing he smiles that boyish grin of his. He reminds you that the Tardis is alive, as if it was supposed to explain everything. You shake your head smiling and turn back to your view of space.
She continues to sing and you feel a sense of calm one that you haven't felt in a while. Then a tug, just a small insignificant thing, but you realised you were missing something, maybe home. No, not there surely. You were an outsider, never fitted in, here you are appreciated even if it's by some strange alien. For the first time you have a friend. Yes that's what it was not home sickness but the happiness of having a friend.
Smiling you stare back out into space listening to the song. But you can't fool you self you know deep in your heart you miss your home. All the small quirks of the humans there. All the people living in a small bubble who wouldn't believe anything you've seen. Realising this you feel more at peace than you've had in a while you continue your gazing of the beauty of space while the Tardis sings to you.
